On Wednesday, July 10th, 2024, a team from Mercy Corps, working on USAID Informal Livelihoods Advancement Activity (Iqlaa) visited the Garment Design & Training Services Center (GSC) to learn about the center's unique approach to training and development in the garment industry.
The delegation was warmly welcomed by Mr. Hassan Nsour, GSC's Chief Executive Officer, along with several esteemed colleagues. During the meeting, discussions focused on potential avenues for collaboration between GSC and Mercy Corps, exploring how both organizations can work together to empower local designers and enhance skill development.
Following the meeting, the visiting team was given a guided tour of GSC's state-of-the-art facilities. They had the opportunity to observe firsthand the wide range of training programs offered by GSC, including pattern making, industrial sewing, and fashion design, as well as hands-on workshops where aspiring designers hone their skills.
This visit marks a significant step towards strengthening partnerships aimed at fostering creativity, entrepreneurship, and sustainable development within the local community.
