In partnership with the International Trade Center (ITC), the Garment Design & Training Services Center (GSC) has implemented the components related to "Product Design and Development" and "Material Sourcing" under the project tilted "Improving the international competitiveness of the textile and clothing sector in Jordan".

Project activities related to product design and development were meant to support 21 SMEs in improving their product design and development capabilities in line with buyer requirements and emerging design trends.

Material sourcing training was meant to provide SMEs, designers and suppliers with the knowledge on how to choose the right fabrics and accessories for the collection, how to identify suppliers, who are the local suppliers and what are the most important textile trade shows for apparel textile sourcing.

Project activities are supposed to increase SMEs export capabilities and opportunities in the regional and international markets through capacity building and skills development. Activities focused on the actual needs/demands of the markets, developing skills and know-how, and helping to promote solutions to the current socio-economic challenges. A total number of 21 companies have benefitted from the training activities related to product design and development.
